Honda have raised the green stakes, announcing yesterday that next year they will be introducing a hydrogen powered fuel cell car to the market- albeit in limited numbers, on a lease base only (as to buy one would cost in the region of £50,000) and in California.
The car in question- the FCX Clarity, only emits water vapour and has an impressive range of 270 miles. In addition, it has been designed to “show off” to other motorists as its ‘distinctive’ exterior exudes green credentials.
General Motors will also be road testing its hydrogen model in early 2008.
